Overview

This course begins with an overview of Sterling Order Management System and the business models it supports. The course then describes how to define participants and create organizations and users. Through a combination of procedural information and exercises, students will learn about topics such as how to assign attributes to the different roles defined in Sterling Order Management System and configure user access policies.

 

The course also covers Process Modeling features, including how to set up a business process workflow for an organization. Students are then introduced to statuses, conditions, transactions, and other components of a process type pipeline. The course then describes how to create a process type pipeline.

Course Overview:

 

Unit 1: Overview of Applications Manager

This unit covers the basic concepts of Applications Manager and one of its primary components, the Application Platform.

 

Unit 2: Configuring Organizations

This unit provides an overview of configuring participants in a supply chain network and the roles they can assume in a business. It also discusses how to configure organizations and the key attributes that affect and control their behavior. Additionally, the unit covers the key attributes for the different roles. 

 

Unit 3: Creating Users and Configuring Access Policies

This unit provides an overview of the prerequisite information required for creating users. It also discusses how to create users and configure access policies for users in Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation.

 

Unit 4: Case Study

This unit presents a full-blown case study of a multi-divisional corporation to help you understand the different participants in the supply chain and map their appropriate roles in Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation.

 

Unit 5: Overview of Process Modeling

In this unit, you will learn how to model your business requirements appropriately and accurately using the features of Process Modeling. You will also learn how to configure a process type to provide a standard set of workflow entities and rules to model a defined business process for a document.

 

Unit 6: Configuration Basics 

In this unit, you will learn how to configure different types of statuses and conditions and how to configure different types of services, events, actions, and transactions. This unit also teaches you about pipeline determination rules and how to configure a simple pipeline. You will also learn how to create a pipeline for the specific process type you are working with.
